We went to the Hairy Elephant today for Emerson's first haircut. She did great! She sat very still and was wonderful for the stylist. After her hair was cut, she had it sprayed with cupcake scented conditioner and styled up with princess clips. As you can see, she was very proud of her beautiful hair!
We had a wonderful Easter starting with church and an egg hunt there. Then, we spent the afternoon with family at my parents house with another egg hunt and yummy dinner. It was nice to relax and watch Emerson have such a fun day!
We have had a beautiful start to spring this year. For my birthday, we went to Purina Farms and then Meramec Caverns. Emerson kept telling us that there were no bears in the cave, but it was cold and dark (and made her hair super curly!). We had a fun day followed by dinner at a local restaurant. The cuisine has changed, but it was actually the same location where Jeff and I had our first date. Oh, how our dinners have changed!
Emerson has a lot of fun playing with her cousin, Jack, and making him laugh. Not too hard considering she is a natural goofball! She also did a great job dying Easter eggs this year!
We took Emerson to an Easter egg hunt where the Easter bunny arrived by helicopter. She still talks about it and believes that it is his mode of transportation! It was a fun day with a petting zoo, firetruck, Easter bunny and egg hunt.
We spent last weekend at Lake of the Ozarks to celebrate my dad's 70th birthday. We had absolutely gorgeous weather - it finally felt like spring! The girls (and kids) did some shopping while the guys attempted to fish without much luck. The kids also enjoyed boat rides and "fishing" off the dock! We had a nice dinner on Saturday night and an overall great time just spending the weekend together. I know I'm lucky to be able to celebrate having such a wonderful dad!
I came downstairs the other night to find Emmy and her daddy making chocolate soup. If you want the recipe, it's water, salt, pepper and a piece of chocolate whipped with a whisk - delicious! We also celebrated Dr Suess' birthday with storytime at Target and another party for Kenzie at Monkey Joe's.
This past week, we've had a lot of snow, followed by a full weekend - Mackenzie's 6th birthday party and Disney Live with Ben and Aunt Lindsay! Our little girl was exhausted by the end of it all but had such a great time!
Emerson's 2nd birthday was full of fun! We went to the Magic House and had lunch with her cousins, took a shopping trip to Toys R Us, and ate pizza and dessert with Mommy and Daddy. In between it all, she found some time to play with her new dollhouse and all of her other new toys. She was still talking about seeing Monkey George (Curious George at the Magic House) when she fell asleep. I can't believe how quickly two years have gone and what a big girl we have now!
