Feeding Jackson

Emerson has decided that she is going to help Jackson eat his dinner. To do this, she feeds him one piece at a time by throwing it "to" him. The video shows her doing this (and our doofus dog actually waits for her to do it). For everyone's viewing pleasure, I did not record her feeding him the whole dish!

Amalie & Walker

Amalie and Walker came over to try out some of the toys that Emerson got for Christmas. The girls are starting to play together a little better, and Walker was very content to sit and watch. It won't be long before he is ready to join in on the fun!

Emmy Smiles

This video shows Emmy's latest way of smiling. To most of us, it's called blinking, but to Em, it's a smile!

Mackenzie's birthday party(s)

Turning five is a very big deal and Mackenzie has had multiple parties to celebrate the occasion. Emerson enjoyed all of the opportunities for cake! She also had a lot of fun playing with her cousins and her first trip to Chuck E Cheese.

Emmy is finally getting teeth. Along with the bottom two, three more are now visible on the top. Pretty soon, she'll actually be able to take bites of food, although her lack of teeth hasn't slowed her down. Her favorite things to play with right now are balls and baby dolls. She loves to wash the babies' faces, feed them and push them in strollers. When we go shopping, she can spot pictures of babies or balls from across the room and shouts it out. I can't tell you how many balls I have bought for her now!

Happy Birthday Daddy!

Emerson's daddy's birthday was also this weekend. GG and Granddad were in town to celebrate, and we had a wonderful weekend. I don't think we'll have to eat all week after all of the delicious meals that we had! On Saturday night, we had dinner at a neighborhood restaurant. Anyone familiar with Soulard knows that the brewery is just down the road, making Budweiser a very popular beverage, but contrary to what Aunt Carolyn says, her daddy and I think Emmy has about another 20 years of milk before she gets any!

Cousin Ben's Birthday

Just after Emerson turned 13 months, Ben turned one! With two one year olds, and a house full of excitement, we weren't able to get a good picture of them together. But, we had a lot of fun at the party!

Snowy Days

We've had a snowy week. Emerson loves being out in the cold and especially loves when the snow is falling down on her. Tonight, we went over to her grandparents for some sledding fun. Em was a little puff ball in her snowsuit, but Kenzie held on tight to her on the sled. Making snow angels proved a little more difficult as did trying to stand if she fell, but it was a fun time!

One Year Pictures

For Emerson's 1st birthday, we ended up having two sets of pictures taken. The first ones turned out great, but we realized that we didn't get any full length ones, so we decided to have a few more taken. Unfortunately, we don't have the first set digitally, but here are some from the second ones we had taken.

Birthday Parties

January has been full of parties. This year, we were able to go to Kate's Dora Fiesta. We missed her first birthday because Emerson was too little, but she had a blast helping Kate turn 2! I'm sure Kate appreciated Emmy's assistance in breaking in all of her new toys!

Last weekend, Emerson's cousin, Katie, turned 4. While Ben was busy helping to clean up, Em decided to hide out in a box. You can't be forced to vacuum if you can't be found!

One Year Old!

Our little baby is now a year old! Emerson spent her birthday relaxing and hanging out with Mommy. When Daddy got home from work, we all went shopping and to CPK where she had more than her share of delicious pita bread. Her biggest gift from us was a play kitchen which she loved. She even made pancakes and eggs for her daddy for breakfast the next morning!

On New Year's Day, we had a few friends and family over for a little birthday celebration. This time, she was more willing to enjoy some cake. She got lots of wonderful gifts including clothes, a slide (which Kate taught her the best way to go down was head first!) and a chair of her own that she was happy to share with her dollies.
